Can You Change Difficulty in Tunic?
There is no typical ‘Difficulty’ setting that you can change in Tunic’s Options menus. As such, the difficulty of the combat and the vagueness of all the game’s mechanics will always remain the same. In terms of exploration and figuring out the various puzzles and secrets in Tunic, there’s no way you can make this any easier. This is all part of the charm of the game, with its in-game instruction manual reminiscent of those that accompanied games that released in the 90s and early noughties. As you collect pages of the manual from around the world, you’ll learn about more of the mechanics and even find hidden little tips and clues on where you’re supposed to go next, or what that random item you picked up — like those shiny gold coins — are used for. When it comes to the combat, though, there are some options that you can make use of within the game’s Accessibility menus to make things a little bit easier.
Activating ‘No Fail’ & Unlimited Stamina Modes
If you’re finding that Tunic’s combat is just too difficult — especially some of those boss fights — you do have a couple of ‘cheats’ that can be found within the game’s ‘Accessibility’ menu. By pressing the Menu button on Xbox or Esc on PC, you can go to the ‘Settings’ page and then select ‘Accessibility.’ In here, you’ll find ‘No Fail Mode’ and ‘No Stamina Restrictions.’ ‘No Fail Mode’ prevents you from taking any damage at all. It’s essentially an invincibility mode, which can help you get past a boss or particularly tough combat section should you feel as though you simply can’t beat it without it. ‘No Stamina Restrictions’ is pretty self-explanatory. Your Stamina gauge won’t deplete when you perform dodge rolls or an enemy’s attack drains it. You can turn these on and off at any time during the gameplay, even when you’re in the middle of a boss fight, and they’ll immediately take effect. That’s everything you need to know on Tunic difficulty settings. For more tips, tricks and guides on the game, search for Twinfinite, or see the links below.
