How to Beat All Dry’l Phases in Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands
You should first know that enemies scale to your level automatically in Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands. Because of this, no boss in the game becomes redundant or easy to fight. You will always get level-appropriate loot. You will first encounter Dry’l during the Mortal Coil quest that takes place throughout the Drowned Abyss area. Dry’l won’t be found until you enter the Godswell area that the story will take you to. Because of this, there seems to be no way to spawn into the Godswell directly, so you will always have to start from the Dry’l’s Gallery fast travel point in the Drowned Abyss. You will have some vending machines as soon as you are in, but otherwise, it is a short walk and then a drop into a hole to start the boss fight.
Dry’l Phase 1
This first phase will be against Dry’l, Whose Chains Are The Sea. This is all the same boss, but the name change is how you have some idea of what to expect in the phase. In this one, Dry’l will be exclusively melee-focused. His fist slams are hard to ignore and dodge, but you still have to do your best despite probably taking hits. There are Coiled enemies nearby if you get downed and need to kill something for a Death Save. Aim for the glowing red part of his abdomen to do critical damage and empty his health bar.
Dry’l Phase 2
Meet Dry’l, Whose Blood is Thunder. For the first bit of this fight, Dry’l will be at the far reach of the boss area, hurtling lightning spears at you. These are bad news, as typically wards have a weakness to shock damage. He will also have a ward of his own during this fight, so now would be a good time to ready a shock weapon of your own. Dodge these thrown spears to the best of your ability and keep doing damage. After you have his health down enough, he will appear back to his old position in front of you. Now is when the spears get extra deadly. Keep dodging and shooting right into his crit spot. When he is near death, he will stab his spear into the ground and pull out a second spear and begin to regen some of his ward. The first spear will do a pool of shock damage that you’ll very much want to avoid. This is your best chance to stop him, as the hefty damage is coming. Just keep hammering the crit spot and you’ll drop him into phase three.
Dry’l Phase 3
Now, you are face to face with the final form, Dry’l, Whose Heart Is Fire. Once again, he has a ward up, so your shock weapon will get more use. This time, instead of spear throwing, get used to fiery projectiles. These pack a punch and if you get hit with your ward down, it might down you. He does follow about the same pattern as Phase two — distant at first but comes in for melee hits when down enough health. His hits come more frequently and in threes, so be prepared to dodge or get demolished. Prepare yourself for a new fire breath attack that will light dropped pools of oil on fire and limit your playable space, making you more available to be hit. After the fire breath is over, Dry’l will sink back into the water and summon several Coiled enemies. They shouldn’t be a threat. Dry’l will raise up at the far left and far right of the area to breathe a jet of fire, but at long as you stick to the middle you will be fine. Then, he will once again resurface back to where he started at the beginning of the second and third phases. Dry’l repeats the fiery projectiles and it will be like the phase restarted, though he will be incredibly weak now and prime for you to finish him off. When his health bar is depleted, out will come a spray of loot and Dry’l will sink into the depths. That’s all you need to know for how to beat all three phases of Dry’l in Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands. We also have a guide for defeating the Parasite boss for some farming. Though, you might also be interested in a guide on getting legendary weapons.
